Paul Hawksbee expects Rangers supporters to give Archie Gray stick in their game against Tottenham due to his Celtic connections.

The Gers welcome Tottenham to Ibrox in the Europa League on Thursday [12 December] in what will surely be a fiery game against Ange Postecoglou’s side.

It’s not just the Australian manager who has links to the Scottish club’s fierce rivals Celtic, though, with summer signing Archie Gray a supporter of Celtic.

Gray previously revealed having a former manager of the club at Spurs was a factor in why he signed [BBC Sport].

Speaking live on talkSPORT [12 December: 3:10pm], Hawksbee said: “It was going to be a great atmosphere anyway, but having Ange Postecoglou there as an ex-Celtic manager really turns it up a level.

“Archie Gray has Celtic leanings as well so he’ll get a bit [of stick].”

Rangers can intimidate Tottenham at Ibrox

Although Rangers haven’t been in their best form so far this season, they have started to pick up some results of late, but still lack consistency in their performances.

However, Spurs are just as guilty of inconsistency this season as they have found both their results and performances changing game by game throughout the season, with no one knowing which side will turn up on any given day.

The visitors also have two key injuries in their defence with both Micky van der Ven and Cristian Romero out of action for the game, which could well serve the Gers a boost.

The home fans will need to get on side for this game and they will no doubt be keen to let Postecoglou know what they think of his varying start to life in North London.

However, they will no doubt be ready to get on Gray’s back too as they look to get a result over their English opponents and march towards the Europa League knockouts.
