Sean Dyche’s attention to detail for every game means there is “no way” Everton will be relegated this season, according to Darren Bent.

Speaking on talkSPORT (25 October, 5:44pm), the former England striker said that having spoken with Toffees veteran Ashley Young, he has full confidence in the club staying up this season.

The Blues lost their first four matches of the season, but have since gone on a four-game unbeaten run and face Fulham on 26 October off the back of a 2-0 victory at Ipswich.

Bent said: “There’s no way that Everton are going down. I thought at the start of the season that they might wobble a little bit, because they got off to little bit of a tricky start.

“But with Sean Dyche, I think every single one of his players knows exactly what they have to do.

“I was with (Ashley) Young a couple of weeks ago, and he was saying about his attention to detail – he knows from the start to the week to the end of the week.

“You know exactly what is happening and you know exactly how he wants you to play. They are not going down. There’s no way they are going down.”

Do Everton have enough to survive relegation this season?

Their start to the season couldn’t have been much worse, losing in embarrassing fashion for four weeks on the trot, but it’s been one hell of a turnaround at Goodison Park since.

Defeats by 3-0 and 4-0 scorelines prior to back-to-back 3-2 losses having been 2-0 up in the second half was enough for any Toffees fan to lose faith, and few could blame them for doing so.

The most recent of those defeats at Villa Park, though, has proven to be the last, with Dyche’s side winning and drawing two matches apiece since and collecting two clean sheets along the way.

Young in particular is a player who has excelled during this run having previously been all-but written off by the club’s fanbase, but a squad still plagued with injury is finally beginning to tick.

Dyche is set to welcome back several absentees from injury ahead of facing Fulham on 26 October [Everton on X, 24 October], and that can only be a positive for a Blues side whose trajectory seems to be firmly on the up.
