TFG stance emerges on sealing new January signings at Everton - report

Everton are in no rush to make major additions to their squad in January despite The Friedkin Group’s takeover nearing completion, according to TEAMtalk.

Rumours have been rife since it emerged that Dan Friedkin is moving forward with his plans to buy the Premier League club from Farhad Moshiri.

Most notably, Everton have been linked with a move for Red Star Belgrade winger Silas Katompa Mvumpa.

However, TEAMtalk have reported via their website (9 October) that those rumours are wide of the mark, with the Toffees not expecting a busy transfer window.

TFG takeover no reason for Everton to spend big

Silas is currently on loan at Red Star from VfB Stuttgart, but has an £8.4 million release clause.

With The Friedkin Group tipped to complete the takeover of Everton by the end of December, that sum might not be a problem for the Toffees.

The Merseyside-based club, though, believe they have a squad good enough to avoid relegation this season and are in no hurry to spend big in January.

Sean Dyche’s side have had a tough start to the season as they sit 16th in the table after seven games and it is easy to think they are in desperate need of new additions.

However, Everton are unbeaten in their last three matches, winning one and drawing three.

With the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko soon to return from injuries, the Goodison Park outfit are more than capable of stringing together some good results.

Dyche, though, could be in trouble if the club do not climb up the ladder soon as Graham Potter is already being mooted as a potential replacement.

In other Everton news, Asmir Begovic has said that returning to the club in the summer was an easy decision to make.
