Everton could risk losing their best players if Sean Dyche is not sacked at Goodison Park, according to The Esk.
The Toffees financial expert has called on the club to change managers after the 1-0 defeat to Southampton in the Premier League on 2 November.
It is suggested that if Dyche’s contract is extended past its end in the summer, some of Everton’s best players will want to move on, instead.
Writing in his latest blog post on 3 November, The Esk shared his thoughts on what could happen if big changes are not made.
“Not only does maintaining Dyche’s position reduce the chances of staying in the division, it lowers the base from which a new footballing management team entering the club in the summer starts from,” he wrote.
“We are losing players through the running down of contracts, there is every prospect that our best players, those with talent, those still to mature and develop fully will at the completion of another Dyche season want to ply their trade elsewhere.”
Sean Dyche to be sacked by Everton?
It would seem harsh to sack Dyche off the back of one defeat at Southampton, but looking at the bigger picture, it needs to happen eventually.
With his contract running out in the summer, whoever is in charge needs someone more ambitious to push the club forward from just wanting to survive every single year.
Dyche needs to be thanked for his hard work to keep the club in the Premier League given the lack of real spending and points deductions in recent years, but the torch needs to be passed on.
With The Friedkin Group potentially completing its takeover before January [Ben Jacobs], it would be no surprise to see them make a change to kickstart the new era.
Maurizio Sarri is one name who has already been mooted at Goodison Park, with potential future signings already looked at to bring with him too [Inter Live].
If Dyche can maintain Premier League status again, he can leave a happy man with the club needing a fresh start moving towards the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium.
Times change, and it looks like Dyche may fall foul of that shortly.
