‘The last few hours’: Journalist shares what he’s been told about Emerson Royal now

Tottenham Hotspur have started early in terms of getting their business done in the summer transfer window.

The north London club have already signed Archie Gray from Leeds United, and there are further deals to be done in terms of both ins and outs.

Emerson Royal is one player who has been linked with a move away from Spurs with AC Milan said to be keen.

Speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Dharmesh Sheth has shared an update on Emerson’s potential move to AC Milan, and he says that despite reports from elsewhere, there has actually been no official contact between AC Milan and Tottenham at this point.

The Sky Sports journalist shared what he’s heard about the Brazilian.

“The speed of a potential deal will depend on what AC Milan do because the information I have as of the last few hours is that there’s been no official contact between the two clubs,” Sheth said.

“Yes, there is interest and yes Emerson Royal would welcome a move to AC Milan, potentially there is a deal to be done, but the most important part of the deal hasn’t materialised yet.”

Milan move is imminent

AC Milan may not have made a move for Emerson Royal yet, but all of the noise suggests that a move could be imminent.

Indeed, the Italian club are still said to be very keen on Emerosn, and the player is happy to head to San Siro.

Factor in that Spurs may be open to a sale after signing Archie Gray – a player who is capable of playing at right-back, and this looks like a deal that could be easy to do.

Don’t be shocked if Milan accelerate their interest in Emerson over the next few weeks and this deal does ultimately get done.
