'They love him': Alasdair Gold says 'superstar' player Tottenham want to sign has same agents as Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspur may have an edge in the race to sign one of their priority transfer targets this summer.

Ange Postecoglou has already brought back Timo Werner on another loan deal. The German will give the Spurs boss more options in attack.

However, Tottenham need a lot more than just Werner, and they have been linked with moves to sign plenty of players since the turn of 2024.

One of them is currently away on international duty at the Euros, but Tottenham have a serious interest in signing him this summer.

Alasdair Gold has shared the latest on the situation.

Tottenham may have an edge in Eberechi Eze race

Eberechi Eze is going to be a wanted man this summer.

The Crystal Palace ‘superstar‘, who can play in attacking midfield and also out wide, had a very impressive season for the Eagles in the 2023/24 campaign.

Eze scored 11 goals and provided six assists in all competitions, which is a very good return considering that Crystal Palace were really poor until Oliver Glasner took charge of the club.

Tottenham have been linked with a move to sign Eze for a long, long time now, and they do face competition from other clubs in the Premier League,

However, Spurs may have a slight edge in the race to sign Eze this summer.

Gold has confirmed that Postecoglou and Spurs both love Eze and are ready to pay big money to sign him in this window.

Then, he revealed that the player and the Spurs boss have the same agents, as do other Tottenham players like Heung-min Son, Pape Matar Sarr, James Maddison and Pedro Porro.

Gold said in a video on his YouTube channel: “The big one is probably Eberechi Eze, I mentioned earlier, he’s definitely one of Spurs’ priority targets they’d love to bring in this summer. Postecoglou is a big admirer of his.

“He would definitely be a big-money signing. We talk about those big kind of money signings and he would certainly be the one that you’d think Spurs are kind of looking to put their or at least try to put their eggs in the basket for.

“Again, I can, you’re quite rightly, I can hear people saying ‘why does it have to be only one’, but certainly, he would be so exciting if Spurs could get that done.

“They love him at Spurs and he is, as I’ve said before, represented by Base, the agency who also represent Postecoglou, Son, Madison, Porro, Sarr and more staff at the club.”

How much will Eze cost Tottenham this summer?

Tottenham need to spend the big bucks to sign Eze this summer.

The Crystal Palace star is a hugely talented player. He’s English, still only 25, hugely versatile and can score goals and provide assists regularly.

He has all the qualities that would make him a great fit in Postecoglou’s system, and TBR Football can confirm that Tottenham have made enquiries about signing Eze.

However, Crystal Palace have included a release clause on the midfielder’s contract worth £60 million plus an additional £8 million in add-ons (Daily Mail).

That means Spurs will have to break their transfer record to sign him this summer.
