Report: EURO 2024 star has now agreed to join Tottenham after Spurs made £15m bid

One of the best performers at UEFA EURO 2024 so far this summer has now agreed to sign for Tottenham.

Spurs have sent a €17.5m (£15m) bid for his signature, and while that offer is yet to actually be accepted, the player himself has given the green light over a move to N17.

So, who has agreed a move to Tottenham? Let’s take a look…

Sebastian Szymanski agrees to join Tottenham

A story from Aslinda in Turkey now claims that Fenerbahce No.53 Sebastian Szymanski has said yes to a move to Tottenham.

The Turkish news outlet believe Fenerbahce – now managed by Jose Mourinho – received a £15m bid from Spurs for the Poland international, and while the Super Lig outfit want more cash from Spurs, the player himself is keen to join Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Aslinda add that Tottenham will soon return to the negotiating table to submit an improved offer for Szymanski – and he will fly to England for a medical if an agreement is reached whenever Poland’s involvement at UEFA EURO 2024 ends.

It comes as no surprise to see Spurs show interest in the 25-year-old after his remarkable 2023/24 campaign.

Szymanski – who has been compared to Tottenham No.18 Giovani Lo Celso – impressively scored 13 goals and provided 19 assists in 55 appearances for Fenerbahce last season.

Spurs may have found cheaper alternative to Eberechi Eze

Interestingly, Szymanski plays as a central attacking midfielder – just like Crystal Palace No.10 Eberechi Eze, a player Tottenham are said to be huge admirers of.

A recent story from TEAMtalk claimed that Postecoglou has approved a £68m bid for the England international with a meeting set to take place shortly.

However, it feels unlikely that Spurs will sign both Szymanski and Eze, so it will be interesting to see if the north Londoners now abandon interest in the latter after the Polish maestro agreed to join.
