Tottenham dressing room stance on Postecoglou shared as major squad leak emerges

Tottenham lack the squad depth required to compete at the top of the Premier League, one player told BBC.

Nizaar Kinsella, reporting via the broadcaster’s website [9 December], reported that the player, whose identity remains to be known, believes there needs to be more investment in the squad for them to push further up the table.

However, Ange Postecoglou continues to retain the full support of the dressing room despite the 4-3 loss to Chelsea at home on Sunday [8 December], with players’ off-the-record conversations staying in line with their stance in public.

Spurs find themselves 11th in the Premier League after managing only one win in their last five games, thus putting Postecoglou under immense pressure.

A section of fans have grown frustrated with the former Celtic boss as his high-risk, high-reward playing style continues to divide opinion among supporters and pundits.

However, the “environment around Postecoglou” is positive that his future in North London is under threat, according to Kinsella.

The 59-year-old also has a good relationship with chairman Daniel Levy, with the two on the same page about the club’s transfer strategy.

However, it appears at least one player in the squad wants Levy to do more in the transfer market as Spurs look to claw their way up the ladder.

The Telegraph reported on 9 December that Postecoglou has held meetings with technical director Johan Lange to discuss their plans ahead of the January transfer window.
