Ange Postecoglou will be eager for his side to come away with all three points as Tottenham prepare to face Wolves in the Premier League.
Spurs welcome Wolves to North London on Sunday (29 December) for their final game of 2024 after a loss against Nottingham Forest on Thursday (26 December).
With their inconsistent form continuing to define the side, the Australian’s side will be expected to beat a team who are sitting just a point above the relegation zone.
Preview
Postecoglou will have been disappointed with Tottenham’s showing at the City Ground as they were beaten 1-0, despite dominating the game before Djed Spence was shown a red card in the 94th minute.
The result leaves them 11th in the league, six points away from the top six. However, if the North London side want to get themselves back to the right end of the table, it is vital they start picking up points.
Wolves have struggled this season and that led to the dismissal of Gary O’Neil recently, with Vitor Pereira his replacement. He is tasked with guiding the team away from the relegation zone.
A 2-0 win against Manchester United on Thursday (26 December) showed that Wolves are now a side that could be in improved form under the new addition at Molineux, with two victories in a row.
Therefore, the upcoming game may not be the easy match that Spurs expected and they will no doubt be required to work if they are going to get anything out of it, especially against a side they have a poor record against.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Wolves
Although Spurs will be expected to win this game, unfortunately for Postecoglou, his side don’t have a strong record against their opponents and this one could end with a point each.
In addition to this, the home side have got some defensive injury issues which will surely give them some worries at the back of the field given they have conceded too many goals this term.
Wolves will feel like they have some momentum too, and therefore they will surely put up a good fight in this game.
