Bryan King claims Tottenham will be preparing to offer Mikey Moore a new contract with the club.

The ex-Spurs scout believes the North London side should offer the 16-year-old a four-year deal.

As reported by HITC (8 July), Real Madrid are one of several clubs interested in Moore.

However, Tottenham are confident of keeping hold of the player, with a first-team place awaiting him next season.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – suggests the club will be keen to keep hold of Moore long-term.

“If that kind of interest is being generated in the player, I would imagine the club will be looking to offer him a new deal,” King said.

“They should be looking to offer him a three-year deal at the minimum, if not a four-year deal.

“That way they can see how he progresses over the next four years. I don’t think Tottenham will be too concerned though.

“The club aren’t going to allow him to run his current deal down. I would imagine they’re on that situation already.”

Will Tottenham keep hold of Mikey Moore amid interest from Real Madrid?

Real Madrid already being interested in Moore demonstrates the level of player Tottenham have on their hands.

And that suggests the club might struggle to keep hold of him in the long-term.

Ange Postecoglou however will hope that is not the case. Moore has already made his Premier League debut despite being just 16 years of age, and if the early signs are anything to go by, the forward has a big future ahead of him.

Tottenham, Mikey Moore
Mikey Moore recently made his first-team debut for Tottenham.

Lamine Yamal has proven at the 2024 UEFA European Championship that age is just a number, and if Tottenham want to keep hold of their own academy wonderkid, Postecoglou needs to show faith in him next season.

In other Tottenham news, an 18-year-old at the club is set for a first-team role next season as a pre-season claim emerges.
