'Very solid': Ben Foster says Arsenal have made a signing this summer that's a 'win-win' for everyone involved

Arsenal’s summer transfer window has ended up being a decent one in the end as they made a number of solid signings.

The additions of Euro 2024 stars Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino have added genuine quality to the ranks, while the surprise signing of Raheem Sterling is also a good move.

Indeed, the signing of Sterling has been praised by Alan Shearer, while Micah Richards suggested Sterling could even have a bigger impact than Gabriel Martinelli this season.

Of course, Arsenal also made another signing late in the window as they made a move for Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto to replace the departing Aaron Ramsdale.

Neto has come in purely as a number two and knows David Raya is the main man.

However, speaking from experience of being a top stopper, Ben Foster has said that the signing of Neto is in fact excellent business.

Ben Foster praises Arsenal for signing Neto

Speaking about the signing of Neto by Arsenal on his Cycling GK YouTube channel, Foster admitted he believes it is a smart piece of business for everyone involved.

“Again, this is a win-win for everybody, isn’t it,” Foster quipped.

“Arsenal get a very solid, dependable number two, good at playing with the ball with his feet, and for the player himself, he gets to go to a big club in London as Arsenal. Win win.”

Neto brings experience and quality to Arsenal

Neto will be hoping to get his chance in the cup competitions this season and with what looks like an extended Champions League format, he may get a sniff there too.

Having played for Barcelona, Juventus and Valencia, Neto is not short of experience at the very top.

Neto has impressed Micah Richards in the past and on paper, seems a smart addition.

Mikel Arteta, then, knows he has signed a good character and top goalkeeper, should the worse happen and Raya miss out for an extended period.
