Rangers failed to see out a victory in a 3-3 draw against Hearts at Tynecastle Park in the final game of the Scottish Premiership season on Saturday (18 May).

Lawrence Shankland opened the scoring after Cyriel Dessers squandered the perfect opportunity for an equaliser, with Hearts taking a one-goal advantage into the half-time break.

Goals from Ross McCausland, Todd Cantwell and Fabio Silva helped Philippe Clement’s side take a 3-1 lead before late goals from Dexter Lembikisa and Kyosuke Tagawa tied the match up.

Here, Ibrox News rates the Rangers players out of 10 for their performances against Hearts. All statistics are sourced from FotMob.

Robbie Fraser excites Rangers fans in Hearts victory

Jack Butland – 6

A solid performance from the goalkeeper. Could do little against Shankland, who netted his 25th league goal of the season, and had little else to do. Still had to stay switched on until the end.

James Tavernier – 4

A very quiet performance from the Rangers captain, especially when his side went behind. Could only win 30 per cent of his ground duels and was dribbled past three times as Hearts threatened.

Leon King – 4

A tough afternoon at centre-back for King, who has been thrown into the deep end due to injuries to Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Leon Balogun. Conceded three times against a threatening Hearts side.

Ben Davies (Off for Dujon Sterling 72′) – 6

Was substituted before Lembikisa’s goal, likely not being risked by Clement for the Scottish Cup final against Celtic, with few options in defence available.

Robbie Fraser (Off for Ridvan Yilmaz 60′) – 8

Incredibly positive full debut for his boyhood club, winning several duels and tackles, as well as creating chances in the final third of the pitch. Exciting future ahead for the youngster.

Mohamed Diomande (Off for Kieran Dowell 60′) – 7

Very positive mind, looking to push the team forward from the base of midfield. Maintained a 100 per cent shot accuracy with two long-range efforts. Has put his name in the hat to start v Celtic in the Scottish Cup final.

Nico Raskin – 5

Outshone in midfield by Diomande but has done well to come back into the team in recent weeks, making back-to-back 90-minute cameos against Dundee and Hearts.

Ross McCausland – 7

Scored a brilliant effort to equalise, and could have also had an assist in the first half but his cross was fired straight at Zander Clark by Dessers, much to the frustration of the winger and Rangers fans.

Todd Cantwell – 8

Started slowly but grew into the game as minutes passed. Scored his second goal in as many games. Has the potential to be a world-beater under Clement’s guidance but needs to find consistency.

Scott Wright (Off for Fabio Silva 60′) – 6

Struggled to live up to his own hype from a brace against Dundee last week. However, he threatened going forward and supplied multiple chances.

Cyriel Dessers struggled once again as Rangers drew 3-3 with Hearts

Cyriel Dessers (Off for Abdallah Sima 72′) – 2

Despite racking up 22 goals in all competitions this season, he missed several chances to take the lead against Hearts before Shankland opened the scoring. Raised more questions than answers with his performance.

Substitutions

Fabio Silva (On for Wright 60′) – 7

Looked to have put the cherry on the cake with the third goal from Rangers. Dispossessed Dexter Lembikisa and stroked home, already showing more impotence than Wright.

Ridvan Yilmaz (On for Fraser 60′) – 6

Kieran Dowell (On for Diomande 60′) – 5

First action was to pick up a yellow card for a strong challenge on Cameron Devlin. Needless, to say the least.

Abdallah Sima (On for Dessers 72′) – 6
