View: Ange has every right to be worried about 20% Tottenham ace after what he did this week

Ange Postecoglou will be concerned about the form of Tottenham forward Dejan Kulusevski.

Kulusevski didn’t enjoy the most productive season with Spurs. Although he was a regular under Postecoglou, the forward struggled to produce consistently.

He scored eight goals and provided three assists across 36 Premier League matches, having scored just twice and provided seven assists the season before.

That is a total of just 10 goals and 10 assists across two Premier League seasons.

Considering Brennan Johnson managed 10 assists last season alone while Son Heung-min scored 17 goals and also provided 10 assists during the 2023/24 campaign, Postecoglou will hope to see much more from Kulusevski next season.

However, the Australian will be concerned that the 24-year-old isn’t showing any signs of improvement while away with Sweden.

Kulusevski did end the season on a positive note, scoring twice as Tottenham beat an already-relegated Sheffield United 3-0 at Bramall Lane (19 May).

However, he has not brought that form to the national team.

Kulusevski started both of Sweden’s recent friendlies, with both ending in defeat.

In a 2-1 loss to Denmark on Wednesday (5 June) the Spurs man was only accurate with 20 per cent of his crosses into the box, while he also missed one big chance, gave possession away 14 times and was dribbled past once (Sofascore).

And things didn’t get much better in the 3-0 defeat to Serbia on Saturday (8 June).

On that occasion, while Kulusevski completed 91 per cent of his passes with three of those key, he was also only able to provide one accurate cross into the box from four attempts.

In addition, he succeeded with just one of his three dribbles and gave possession away 12 times.

Postecoglou would’ve hoped to see much more from Kulusevski while on international duty, and he will need to see improvements from the forward in pre-season ahead of the new campaign getting underway.
