Ange Postecoglou must start Mikey Moore when Tottenham play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Sunday (27 October).

Spurs made it seven wins from eight by beating AZ Alkmaar 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (24 October).

Richarlison scored the winner from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute after Lucas Bergvall had won the spot kick, with the Swede suffering a potentially “huge blow” during the match (via talkSPORT, 24 October).

However, most fans would have left the stadium on Thursday night talking about 17-year-old Moore.

The young forward’s performance was so good that it had James Maddison comparing him to a legendary Brazilian footballer. As per Football on TNT Sports via X (24 October), Maddison said, “I thought we had Neymar on the left wing!”

And after Timo Werner’s performance on the night, with question marks remaining over Son Heung-min’s fitness, Moore has to be in line to start against Palace on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou to start Mikey Moore for Tottenham v Crystal Palace?

There was a lot to love about Moore’s performance against AZ Alkmaar, particularly the bravery and quality on the ball demonstrated by the teenager.

As per Sofascore, Moore completed 78 per cent of his passes, with one of those key, while 100 per cent of his long balls forward were accurate.

In addition, he had three shots at goal, while attempting three take-ons, with one of those successful, as he provided a constant threat down the left-hand side.

There was room for improvement, as the Spurs youngster failed to provide an accurate cross from three attempts and won just one of his seven ground duels. However, football isn’t played on paper, and those who watched Moore’s display would have seen just how special it was.

As a result, he has left Postecoglou with no choice but to continue including him in the first-team, and when Spurs travel to Selhurst Park on Sunday, the Australian should seriously think about handing Moore a start.

In other Tottenham news, Werner could leave the club in January after a transfer update from Germany.
