Ange Postecoglou could axe Son Heung-min in six changes when Tottenham travel to Galatasaray in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

Spurs will be looking to make it four wins from four in Europe this season at RAMS Park (7 November).

However, this will be without a doubt the North London side’s toughest test to date in this season’s Europa League. Therefore, Postecoglou will need to get his team selection spot on.

After their 4-1 Premier League win over Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (3 November), confidence among the Spurs squad will be high.

However, Postecoglou will still likely make changes as he aims to keep his squad fresh and hand minutes to some of the club’s fringe players.

Fraser Forster started Spurs’ most recent European clash, the 1-0 win over AZ Alkmaar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (24 October). However, considering the opposition, Guglielmo Vicario will likely keep his place, despite being criticised for his role in the goal conceded against Aston Villa.

Cristian Romero hobbled off injured against Villa, sparking injury concerns. Therefore, he will likely be replaced by Ben Davies, who came on for the Argentinian against Unai Emery’s side and completed 100 per cent of his passes and won 100 per cent of his ground duels (Sofascore).

Radu Drăgușin will expect to keep his place in the continued absence of Micky van de Ven. The Romanian started and completed the full 90 minutes against Villa, completing 90 per cent of his passes and winning 100 per cent of his ground duels.

Davies filling in for Romero means Destiny Udogie might have to continue at left-back, while Archie Gray will likely fill in for Pedro Porro at right-back, with the 18-year-old having played every minute for Spurs in this season’s Europa League.

In midfield, Postecoglou could make three changes. James Maddison was benched against Villa and he could come in to replace Dejan Kulusevski, who played three key passes against the Villans.

Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur, who made three tackles and two interceptions against Villa, could be replaced by Yves Bissouma, while Pape Matar Sarr might be handed a rest after completing 92 per cent of his passes last time out, with Lucas Bergvall his most likely replacement.

Son was hooked before the hour mark against Villa, a decision which the South Korea international didn’t respond to very well. Having just returned from injury, he set up Spurs’ equaliser, while also completing 88 per cent of his passes, with two of those key.

Postecoglou could decide not to risk Son in Turkey, with Timo Werner the most likely replacement.

Dominic Solanke put in arguably his greatest performance against Aston Villa, scoring twice, while also winning three ground duels and three aerial duels.

He will likely keep his place after Richarlison appeared to suffer another injury setback against Villa. Meanwhile, Brennan Johnson could be handed a rest and replaced by Mikey Moore.
