Sean Dyche should be pushing hard for Everton to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.

The Toffees have made a dismal start to the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Following their 3-0 defeat to Brighton at Goodison Park on Saturday (17 August), Dyche’s side were beaten 4-0 by Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (24 August).

What is perhaps most concerning is the number of goals that Everton have shipped. To concede seven times across two matches is pretty poor.

However, another worrying issue is the fact that the Toffees were unable to find the back of the net even once across their opening two matches.

It suggests that there is room for improvement at both ends of the pitch, and one player who could help them to make those improvements in forward areas is Arsenal forward Nketiah.

As previously reported by TEAMtalk (7 August), Everton’s sporting director Kevin Thelwell is an admirer of the 25-year-old striker.

Therefore, if Thelwell is keen to bring Nketiah to Goodison Park, he will need to act fast after a recent transfer update emerged.

Everton to bring Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah to Goodison Park?

As reported by David Ornstein via X on Sunday (25 August), Nketiah’s proposed move from Arsenal to Nottingham Forest has broken down.

A deal worth £30million was in place between the two clubs but an agreement could not be reached between Forest and the player.

Ornstein has reported that Nketiah is still expected to leave the Emirates Stadium before the transfer deadline.

And Thelwell and Dyche should be doing everything they can to ensure Goodison Park is where the player ends up after 30 August.

Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a move to Everton

It is no secret that Everton need goals, and with the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin still up in the air (via TBR Football, 25 August) they would be wise to move for Nketiah.

As per Dharmesh Sheth via X (25 August), two clubs – one in the Premier League and one in Europe – are exploring a deal for Nketiah, which means that Everton will need to act fast.

In other Everton news, a Dyche sack verdict has emerged after a Goodison Park remark.
