Although Tottenham remain a stable club financially, frustration with Daniel Levy continues to grow as the club’s form is struggling again.
The debates continue over whether it is Ange Postecoglou who is failing to get a tune out of his side, or whether a lack of investment from the top is having its impact.
There are shouts from some at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Levy to step aside and let someone invest some money into the club in the hope of seeing their side progress and potentially going on to win a trophy.
This investment could come from south of the River Thames with reports that a Crystal Palace shareholder David Blitzer could be ready to seek sole control of a football club.
The Sun wrote on Sunday [15 December, page 53] that the Blackstone chairman, whose worth is $3.1billion [Forbes] will be looking for another Premier League club to take charge of in the “near future”, suggesting that a move to North London could be on the cards if a deal was right.
Tottenham could get new investment
While this is very much early days, some Spurs fans will be excited at the prospect of new ownership and investment on the pitch.
Although many were excited by the appointment of Postecoglou in 2023, the magic is starting to wear off for some supporters who are watching their side in a bout of poor form.
The North London outfit are now without a win in five games in all competitions although with some worrying performances in this run, it has led to questions surrounding the Australian’s future at the club.
Next up is Southampton on Sunday [15 December] evening and if Spurs struggle to get a result, it could lead to serious questions about where the club are going currently.
However, with a number of successful managers failing to bring joy to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it does leave questions about the strategy at the top of the club.
Levy has secured Tottenham’s future as a sustainable club, something that should not be taken for granted, but if more effort has to be made to ensure a trophy comes to North London which could mean it’s time for someone else to take the reigns.
In other Tottenham news, the club are reportedly looking to move for this Championship player.
