View: Premier League have clear issue with Everton after latest social media snub

The Premier League clearly maintain an issue with Everton following a rather petty social media snub on Saturday (18 May).

It has been a memorable Premier League season for several reasons.

An exciting title race, fresh faces in the UEFA Champions League, and plenty of off-field issues have made for a compelling 2023/24 campaign.

And Everton have played a big part in making this a season to remember, albeit for the wrong reasons at times, but it appears as if the Premier League have no interest in acknowledging the Toffees.

Ahead of the final ten games on Sunday (19 May), the Premier League posted a summary video of the season so far via their official X platform (18 May).

It takes viewers on a journey throughout the campaign through cartoonish images, with every team in the league getting a personal share of the spotlight, except one.

Issues continue to appear between the Premier League and Everton

This is quite childish from the Premier League.

Yes, the Toffees have been in trouble with the Premier League this season, but so have Nottingham Forest, and they got several features throughout the video.

This is a clear slap in the face from England’s top flight to Evertonians across the country, and a cheap dig at that too.

There have been plenty of memorable Everton moments from a positive perspective, notably their winning run midway through the season and three points against Liverpool at Goodison Park which all but ensured their safety.

But clearly, the Premier League have no interest in highlighting any of these moments.

After a tumultuous campaign for the Toffees which has seen their supporters openly criticise the Premier League on multiple occasions, it will be hard for them to not feel as if there is an agenda against the club after this latest stunt.
