View: Record-breaking Tottenham gem could earn European debut v Qarabag as images emerge

Tottenham gem Mikey Moore could be about to earn his European debut as they face Qarabag FK in the Europa League on Thursday (26 September).

The 17-year-old has been a revelation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since making a breakthrough into Ange Postecoglou’s senior side, making his Premier League debut against Manchester City last term.

He hugely impressed during Spurs’ pre-season tour, scoring against Hearts as well as assisting at QPR, though he has only played two minutes of senior football since.

Tottenham’s opening Europa League clash against Azerbaijan side Qarabag could be the perfect opportunity to give him his European debut, and images posted by Alasdair Gold would suggest it could happen [X].

Moore was missing from the Under-21s squad as Spurs faced Exeter in the EFL Trophy, with the 17-year-old spotted in full senior training ahead of the game instead.

Tottenham have shown their faith in Moore off the pitch, handing him a new contract with the biggest wage ever handed to a 17-year-old at Spurs [Jack Pitt-Brooke, 6 August].

However, now is the time for Postecoglou to show the youngster how much the club believe in him ahead of the Europa League clash against Qarabag.

Due to the new format of the Europa League, Spurs can afford to risk resting some of the more key players and giving valuable minutes to future stars at the club.

Moore is certainly one of those players who deserve some minutes on the pitch, having only been given two minutes against Brentford so far this season.

He is undoubtedly one of the most talented youngsters currently at Postecoglou’s disposal, and if his senior career gets off and running, it could take some of the pressure off new signing Dominic Solanke.
