John Wenham claims Wilson Odobert will be frustrated after his recent injury setback at Tottenham.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose still feels there will be plenty of chances for the 19-year-old to feature upon his return from injury.
According to a report from L’Equipe (20 September), Odobert will be out for around a month with a hamstring injury.
However, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is still optimistic of the forward making an impact upon his return.
“This will be frustrating for Odobert,” Wenham said.
“Having started so well in that win against Everton and then featured in a few fixtures after that, this is a blow.
“However, there are lots of games still to come this season. With these eight games in the UEFA Europa League, there will be lots of chances for him when he returns.”
Wilson Odobert to miss a month of action for Tottenham
Odobert made a bright start to life at Tottenham, making his debut in the 4-0 win over Everton (24 August).
He did struggle slightly in matches after. However, he was still featuring consistently and will have no doubt felt as though he was making good progress.
Therefore, this injury setback has come at an unfortunate time, particularly with the Europa League set to get underway. Postecoglou will likely make a host of changes in the competition, and Odobert could have been someone to perhaps benefit from that.
However, should he return by November, there will still be plenty of Europa League matches to play, and the Frenchman will just need to work hard to get back into the team.
In other Tottenham news, the club could recall one “special” player from his loan spell in January.
