Wenham believes Tottenham midfielder will be sold ASAP in £15m deal

John Wenham believes Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be sold for £15million.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims the Denmark international could end his four-year stay with the club in the coming weeks.

As reported by the Daily Mail (10 June), Hojbjerg is keen on a move away from Tottenham, with Atletico Madrid having rekindled their interest in the player.

Fenerbache have also expressed an interest in a move which would see the 28-year-old reunite with ex-Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is happy with the reported interest in Hojbjerg.

“I think he will go, and I think he will go quite soon,” Wenham said.

“I think he will be sold for £15million, which would mean we get our money back on him.

“The links with Atletico Madrid and Fenerbache are good news for the club.

“It guarantees a certain price point with several sides interested.”

Now is the perfect time for Hojbjerg to move on from the club.

During his first few years with Tottenham, he was among the first names on the teamsheet under Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

However, the Dane isn’t as suited to Ange Postecoglou’s style of play and struggled for minutes last season as a result.

With just one year left on his contract, Spurs must sell Hojbjerg this summer if they hope to get any money back on him.

Therefore, it looks likely that the midfielder has played his final game for the club.
