Wolves player sends two-word message after Everton complete signing

Wolves midfielder Tommy Doyle has sent a message to his former teammate Iliman Ndiaye after the Senegal international signed for Everton.

Doyle congratulated Ndiaye by saying “Congrats, brother” on the forward’s Instagram post [4 July], announcing his arrival at Goodison Park.

Ndiaye officially joined Everton on Wednesday on a five-year deal from Marseille, costing around £15m, enjoying an excellent career trajectory from his scholar years at Boreham Wood between 2016 and 2019.

Doyle, formerly of Manchester City before joining Wolves permanently this year, played alongside Ndiaye with Sheffield United with the new Toffees signing earning a place in both the PFA and EFL Championship Teams of the Year.

Everton bolster attacking options with Ndiaye

The signing of Ndiaye for Everton gives Sean Dyche another project, as the club invest in a player with clear talent that can be fine-tuned over the course of his contract on Merseyside.

The 24-year-old is beginning to shape into the prime attacker he could be, despite struggling for goals at boyhood club Marseille, whom he joined last year from Bramall Lane.

What Ndiaye needs to now prove is what he can do in the top flight in front of expectant supporters – and he’ll view this return to England as a clean slate on which to do so, having not yet been given a proper chance in the Premier League in his career.

The season back at Marseille will have assisted his development, but at the age he has now reached, it is time to deliver on a more consistent basis like he did in the Championship with the Blades.

Ndiaye has exhibited the confidence needed for such a rapid rise as he has enjoyed, and that hard graft is already in the locker.

With the help of Dyche and experienced teammates around him from the highest level, all the resources are now there for the versatile forward to blossom and fulfil his potential.

In other Everton news, the club have stepped up their interest in Jaden Philogene.
