'He's made it happen' - Myers applauds Moshiri as new Everton stadium images emerge

Alan Myers has praised Everton owner Farhad Moshiri in reaction to new images of the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

Sky Sports journalist Myers took to X (4 July) to heap praise on Moshiri for his work in realising the new Everton stadium, which is due to open in 2025.

Myers described the new ground as “spectacular”, with the inside and outside now really taking shape.

Responding to a fan who shot down Moshiri’s part in the project, Myers said: “I think credit where it’s due Paul, he’s put a lot into it, yes it’s been tricky in the last few years but essentially he’s made it happen ultimately.”

The 2024/25 Premier League season will be the Toffees’ last at Goodison Park.

Everton set for new chapter at “spectacular” new stadium

Everton have endured a crazy 12 months both on and off the pitch.

This time last year the club were celebrating Premier League survival after Abdoulaye Doucoure scored the only goal of the match against Bournemouth in the final game of the season.

Since they have been hit with two points deductions by the league for breaking Profit and Sustainability rules.

The original 10 point deduction in November was reduced to six (BBC Sport, 26 February) and they were given a further two point in April (Sky Sports, 9 April).

It was a more comfortable affair on the pitch for Sean Dyche’s side last season. Indeed, had they avoided the points deduction the Toffees would have finished 12th, one point off a top-half finish.

Fortunes are also returning for Everton off the pitch with a deal agreed with AS Roma owner Dan Friedkin to buy the club.

The Toffees avoided further sanctions with the sales of Lewis Dobbin to Aston Villa and Ben Godfrey to Atalanta before the 1 July PSR deadline.

It is safe to say that it’s finally an exciting time to be an Everton fan.

Iliman Ndiaye has signed for the Blues from Marseille for £15million (BBC Sport, 3 July) and negotiations are underway to add Hull City winger Jaden Philogene to the incomings (Fabrizio Romano, 3 July).

The Bramley-Moore dock stadium looks fantastic and is set to be the home of the club from the 2025-26 season onwards. Everton’s luck may finally be turning around.

In other Everton news, Joe Thomas has mooted a possible loan move for a Manchester United player.
