Danilo and Cyriel Dessers are both increasingly likely to seal their Rangers exits in the summer transfer window, according to Give Me Sport.

The media outlet reported on 17 May that the strike duo appear to be on the cusp of walking away from the club at the end of the season.

This had made the club’s need to sign a striker that much larger and Lawrence Shankland is among those being linked.

Rangers will surely not consider selling both Danilo and Cyriel Dessers

Selling both Danilo and Dessers would leave Gers with a significant gap in their attack and with Kemar Roofe and potentially Abdallah Sima leaving, it will just not make sense.

Danilo has barely played this season due to injuries after his £6million move over the summer – big money for a club like Gers to shell out.

Sales would necessitate significant investment in new players to fill the void, which could be risky and expensive.

Furthermore, Dessers has shown his ability to improve and adapt to the team’s style of play as despite a slow start, he’s managed to bag 22 goals and provide four assists in all competitions this season.

While Shankland’s arrival would significantly boost Gers’ chances, selling both of the aforementioned players makes little to no sense.

If they are in dire need of finances to fund that transfer, perhaps then an argument could be made for selling either.
