Aston Villa fans rage after 'criminal' Morgan Rogers development

Aston Villa fans are outraged with interim England boss Lee Carsley for not calling up Morgan Rogers after three players withdrew from the squad.

Carsley snubbed the 22-year-old in favour of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones and Newcastle defender Tino Livramento after Kobie Mainoo, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Ezri Konsa all withdrew due to injury.

Rogers is yet to feature for England’s senior team despite having a starting role for the Under-21s, scoring a brace in their 4-1 win over Austria back in September.

The forward has been in fine form for Villa so far this season, scoring once and providing two assists across their opening seven Premier League games.

Comparatively, Jones received his first England call-up although he is yet to make any real impact for Liverpool, playing just 150 Premier League minutes under new manager Arne Slot so far this season.

Rogers still may get his chance, however, after Jack Grealish and Harry Kane both missed training on Wednesday (October 9).

Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers deserves England chance

England have the opportunity to top their UEFA Nations League group as they prepare to take on current leaders Greece and Finland.

With the two games being relatively low stakes, Aston Villa fans took to X, formally known as Twitter, to voice their frustrations that Rogers didn’t get a chance to show what he can do.

In other news, Aston Villa could agree £50m deal after confirmed news.
