Bardell urges Daniel Levy to splash £70m on 'brilliant signing for Tottenham'

Dan Bardell has urged Tottenham to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth even if it takes up to £70million.

Fabrizio Romano reported on 1 August that Spurs are interested in signing the 26-year-old but a deal might prove to be difficult.

This comes after Bryan King told Tottenham News that the one-cap England international would “jump at the opportunity” to move to North London.

Now Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes the Cherries star would be the perfect signing for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Bardell said: “I think he would cost between £60-70m off the back of the last year.

“His goal return for Bournemouth last season was absolutely brilliant for what was a bottom half side.

“If you are looking at raw attributes for a striker, Solanke has everything. He’s quick, strong, can finish and works really hard.

“I think he is going to be a great signing for someone and I really think Tottenham should go for him. He is hitting his peak and is full of confidence.

“I think Solanke would be a brilliant signing for Tottenham I really do.“

Spurs have been in need of a top-class recognised striker since Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich 12 months ago.

Son Heung-min has deputized as a number nine well under Postecoglou with Timo Werner featuring as a winger since joining from RB Leipzig.

Richarlison has been a positive force up top at times but with his chequered injury history, the Brazilian can not be relied on fully.

With all that being said, signing Solanke could prove to be the deal that carries Tottenham into the Champions League after missing out last season.

Playing for Bournemouth last season, the Englishman registered 19 goals and three assists in the Premier League [FotMob].

If Spurs can get a deal over the line for the striker, supporters are likely to be excited and hopeful of another positive campaign.
