Man City fans are convinced that Bruno Guimaraes will join the club soon after his latest comments on his links to the Premier League champions.

Football Insider revealed that Newcastle United were not even entertaining huge offers for the midfielder on deadline day in the summer, but a move for the 26-year-old could still be on the cards.

Guimaraes told Globo Esporte, “Of course, having Manchester City’s suggestions shows that I am at a high level, but it was nothing more than suggestions.

“I know that Guardiola likes my football, it is normal to have great coaches who admire your football.

“We have spoken once after the interview, I praised his work, he praised my work, but it was nothing more than that.”

Considering the injury blows that City have suffered in midfield to Oscar Bobb and Rodri this season, Guardiola’s team have been stretched in that area of the pitch.

Guimaraes has played all 11 Premier League matches so far this season and remains an influential part of Newcastle’s team.

The Brazil international is currently under contract at Newcastle until 2028, but City fans believe if they sign him in January they will “win the league again.”
