Celebrity Rangers fan trolled by Celtic supporter at live show

Rangers superfan Drew McIntyre was trolled by a Celtic supporters during a live WWE show on Friday (20 September).

McIntyre was not on the bill for SmackDown – watched by more than two million people a week in the United States [WrestleTalk] – for the event in Sacramento.

However, that did not stop a Celtic fan attending with a sign clearly aimed at the Scotsman that read “Drew Is a Zombie”, as reported by The Scottish Sun [21 September].

The “zombie” reference is in relation to Rangers going into administration, but the club have since worked their way back up and that is an outdated ‘insult’.

McIntyre has made his love for Rangers known, so much so that the club’s rivalry with Celtic has even crept into recent storylines.

Much like the Gers, McIntyre has bounced back from his nadir of being released by the company and is now one of the top names in the industry.

And like Rangers, unfortunately, it is often a case of so near yet so far for Drew in terms of winning the top prize.

Had he been in attendance in California, it would have been interesting to see how he reacted to this fan in question.

As it is, he may well have his feet up at home on a rare day off and be able to watch Rangers as they take on Dundee later on Saturday (21 September).
