Chris Beesley shares what he understands Farhad Moshiri does for every Everton game

Chris Beesley has shared that he understands Farhad Moshiri still watches every Everton game.

Writing for the Liverpool Echo website (7 September), Beesley reports that as part of his Premier League owners’ entitlement to have access to all of Everton’s games, he has still been opting to watch Toffees games.

That is despite Moshiri not stepping foot inside Goodison Park on a matchday since 2021.

“On October 23, 2021, Rafael Benitez’s Everton were 2-1 ahead against Watford until the 78th minute but still ended up losing 5-2 as Moshiri watched on and almost three years later, the club’s wantaway majority shareholder still hasn’t been back to Goodison for a Premier League match,” Beesley wrote.

“Although the Monaco-based businessman is now in takeover talks with John Textor, a fifth prospective buyer since 2022 after periods of exclusivity with the Kaminski Group, MSP Capital, 777 Partners and the Friedkin Group all failed to strike a deal, it’s understood that he does still take up his Premier League owners’ entitlement of watching a feed of every game Everton player, wherever in the world he is.”

Farhad Moshiri needs to sell Everton as soon as possible

It has felt for a long time as though Moshiri has downed tools as he desperately searches for a buyer for his 94.1 per cent stake in the club.

John Textor is the latest to have been granted a period of exclusivity but the complication of him needing to sell his stake in Crystal Palace means that is not an easy to complete.

Their 2024/25 season has gotten off to a poor start. They find themselves at rock bottom of the Premier League with zero points to their name.

Their most recent top-flight collapse against Bournemouth is undoubtedly the worst point of their season thus far.

It’s clear to see that Everton still need further reinforcement across the board and will need to make some moves in January, should things carry on as they are.

Granted, deadline day arrivals Orel Mangala and Chelsea ace Armando Broja [Official Everton YouTube, 5 September] are yet to feature for the Merseyside outfit but even accounting for their arrivals you sense more depth would be beneficial.

A takeover is needed so more money can be spent to allow Everton to have a better chance of getting out of a cycle of disappointment.
