Dan Friedkin wants new manager at Everton already as 'revolution' to begin - report

Maurizio Sarri has emerged as a wanted man to replace Sean Dyche as Everton manager, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian source reported [25 September] that Dan Friedkin is already searching for a replacement for Dyche after the Friedkin Group struck a deal to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s majority share at Goodison Park.

It is understood that Friedkin is plotting a “revolution” at Goodison Park as he pushes to avoid the nightmare scenario of relegation already.

Everton to appoint Maurizio Sarri?

Sarri would certainly be an interesting appointment, especially in the current predicament that the Toffees are in after the opening five Premier League matches.

The 65-year-old, who resigned from his role at Lazio in March, has plenty of experience in the top flight of Italian football as well as having a single season in the Premier League with Chelsea.

His spell in England was far from ideal, especially being remembered for his public fallout with Kepa after the goalkeeper refused to be substituted against Manchester City in the EFL Cup final in 2019.

There is absolutely no doubt Dyche is feeling the heat at Goodison Park due to the Toffees’ current form, having only earned a single point from a 1-1 draw with Leicester City on Saturday 21 September.

Back-to-back 3-2 comeback defeats to Bournemouth and Aston Villa have not helped his case at all, with the Toffees just one place off the foot of the table.

It is clear how Friedkin feels about the current manager. Sarri is not the only name linked with a move to Merseyside, with Gareth Southgate, David Moyes and Graham Potter all suggested [GiveMeSport].

Although Dyche has worked wonders during his time at Goodison Park, he is quickly running out of time to turn his fortunes around and save his job on Merseyside.

In other Everton news, Simon Jordan shared what he knows about Dan Friedkin’s wealth ahead of a takeover at Goodison Park.
