Daniel Farke: Pundit shares 'crazy' Leeds sack claim after latest

Leeds United fans are ‘crazy’ for wanting manager Daniel Farke to be sacked just five games into the new Championship season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, ex-Scotland international Frank McAvennie doesn’t believe Farke, 47, should be judged too harshly after losing their first league game of the season to newly relegated Burnley on Saturday (September 14).

Burnley winger Luca Koleosho was able to run from his own half after dispossessing Manor Soloman and coolly score past Illan Meslier in the Leeds goal to secure all three points for Scott Parker’s side.

Leeds fans took to social media after the defeat to call for Farke to be sacked with the club sitting in ninth place, two points off the play-off spots.

With a 54 per cent win rate, Farke’s time at Leeds is his most successful as a manager, winning 33, drawing 13, and losing 15 of his games across all competitions.

Despite their defeat to Burnley, the West Yorkshire club dominated at Elland Road, having 71 per cent possession and 17 total shots.

“It’s crazy, it’s just crazy”, McAvennie told Football Insider.

“They hadn’t been beaten and then they got beat by Burnley, who came down and now we’ve got to see how the bounceback.

“Now we’ve got to see their bouncebackability, see how it goes, see what kind of iron they’ve got in their bellies to go and get a win.

“They’ve got Cardiff at the weekend, it’s a tough place to go, but if they have any aspirations of going back up, they’ve got to beat Cardiff.

“They’ve got to have aspirations to beat Cardiff so I wouldn’t expect anything else other than three points from that one.”
