Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is expected to be available for the full 90 minutes against Newcastle at Goodison Park on Saturday, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his return to action against Crystal Palace on 28 September saw him playing the full 90 minutes and he’s likely to be back to 100 per cent.
The 22-year-old had been ruled out after groin surgery and only was back in training in September before playing his first game of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Branthwaite: “It sounded like he was near a 100 per cent before the weekend’s game which he then played the full 90 minutes of.
“Before starting the game, he would’ve had a late fitness test which typically would’ve included going through a full training and then seeing how he responds that day and next morning.
“From a pure fitness standpoint, as there will have been a week since the last one, I see no problems with him playing the full 90 minutes on Saturday.“
Jarrad Branthwaite proved his worth to Everton v Crystal Palace
The Toffees won their first game of the season after Branthwaite’s return, showcasing just how important he is to the team.
The 22-year-old is expected to be once again named in the starting eleven against Newcastle, which will be a tougher game than Crystal Palace.
Hopefully, he can help the hosts keep their first clean sheet of the season as they have shipped in goals aplenty this term.
