Barrow AFC has announced the signing of Everton youngster Katia Kouyate following his release from Goodison Park.

The League Two club confirmed via their official website on Wednesday (5 June) that the attacker has joined as their first summer signing ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The 20-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Cumbria-based outfit after multiple clubs were chasing for his transfer.

What is Everton losing with the departure of Katia Kouyate?

Kouyate has been a part of Everton’s club since the age of eight and has played across all youth levels for the Toffees.

Although he failed to make a senior appearance for the first team, he managed to appear for Sean Dyche’s side during their 2023/24 pre-season tour.

The attacker can play across the front three and even as an attacking midfielder.

However, his talents are best used on the wing. The attacker possesses blistering pace and has a keen eye for goal.

Throughout his youth career with the Toffees, Kouyate has managed to play a total of 69 times and has managed to involve himself with 13 goals.

Although this may not seem like the strongest of returns, his Under-18 debut came at the age of 16 and despite only playing 107 minutes in his first season, he managed to assist one of his teammates.

Although the forward failed to make a senior appearance for Everton, it’s undeniable that he has bags of potential that he could fulfil whilst plying his trade for Barrow.

The Bluebird fell just short of a League Two playoff place as they finished on 69 points, just two afar from sixth-placed Crewe Alexandra.

Barrow manager, Stephen Clemence will no doubt be looking towards Kouyate to find those extra points they need next season in order to make another bid for the playoffs or even automatic promotion to League One.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have been linked with a move for a Fulham ace.
