'Ego driven campaign' - Rangers fan group fires shots at board as financial issues laid bare

Union Bears have issued a statement vehemently attacking the Rangers board for causing financial constraints to them.

They believe that they have become the focus of an ego driven campaign by certain people inside the club’s boardroom.

The fan group have stated that they were not allowed early entry into Ibrox ahead of the 1-0 win over Hearts on 10 November in order to set up a Remembrance Day display.

The statement read, as shared by the Daily Record: ”The club also restricted access to our pre-match stall, which significantly impacted our merchandise sales during a month we are raising funds to order the material required to carry out our preparations for a 125th Ibrox anniversary tifo.

“Unfortunately due to financial constraints caused by lost revenue and a lack of opportunity to seek alternative venues at short notice to facilitate such a display that we would consider appropriate for commemorating such an occasion we will not be commencing with our plans for an Ibrox anniversary tifo.

“In recent years we believe we held a sustainable relationship with the club however, in recent months, through yet another power shift, we have yet again become the focus of an ego driven campaign by select board members who solely want to harm the group and limit our match day capability.”

Rangers and Union Bears need to arrive at a compromise

The statement from the Union Bears signals a potential escalation in the discord between the fan group and the board, highlighting issues that could spiral if not addressed.

Allegations of financial constraints and an ego-driven campaign against them by the board suggest deep-seated frustrations and things need to be curbed.

Hopefully, there will be some kind of conclusion soon as this in-fighting really does not help anyone.
