Everton meet with player's camp to discuss personal terms for new transfer - report

Everton have met with the camp of Hull City star Jaden Philogene to discuss personal terms, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper reported in its print edition [10 July, page 43] that Philogene looks set to join Ipswich, despite the Toffees remaining keen.

The Tractor Boys are said to have agreed on a five-year contract with the former Aston Villa man.

Why Everton should up their offer for Jaden Philogene

Although Hull accepted the Toffees’ £16million offer [Paul Joyce, 9 July] it now seems almost certain that thanks to Ipswich offering slightly more, they will have to at least match their bid.

Sean Dyche’s side has already undergone a plethora of changes and has welcomed the likes of Jack Harrison back and Iliman Ndiaye.

Although these two additions will no doubt improve Everton’s attack tenfold, the addition of the 22-year-old will be the cherry on top of the cake.

He had a stellar Championship season last term and involved himself with 18 goals across the season.

The fact that Philogene can be deployed on either flank is also a major selling point for Everton as it allows them to diversify the way their team lines up if needed.

Although any more than £18m for an attacker who hasn’t had much Premier League experience yet seems like a fairly high fee, his talent is obvious and he would be a great coup for Dyche.
