Exclusive: Gary Neville's club agree to sign Everton youngstet

Everton forward Francis Okoronkwo has agreed a loan move to Salford, sources have told Football Insider.

The 19-year-old joined the Toffees from Sunderland in a deal worth around £1million in 2021.

Okoronkwo is yet to make his full debut for Everton, though he has been part of first-team matchday squads during his time at Goodison Park.

The move to Salford, who are part-owned by Gary Neville, will be Okoronkwo’s first loan move away from Everton and a chance to get his first taste of senior football.

He has played for Everton’s Under-23 side already in the 2024-25 campaign, scoring once in three starts.

The Blyth-born ace has scored 20 goals in 65 games for the Toffees’ youth sides since heading to Merseyside three years ago.

Everton youngster Okoronkwo set for Salford loan

Okoronkwo, who featured in pre-season for Sean Dyche’s side, is under contract at Everton until June 2026.

His exit comes despite the departure of Neal Maupay and the uncertain future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Salford sit 20th in League Two after picking up just two points from their opening three games.

Karl Robinson’s side are next in action against MK Dons on Monday (2 September).

Meanwhile, Everton sit bottom of the Premier League on zero points after shipping seven goals without reply in their opening two games.
