Aston Villa have been busy on the transfer front in recent weeks and chances are they’re not finished yet.
Six players have joined the Villa ranks this summer, with Ian Maatsen, Cameron Archer, Samuel Iling-Junior, Lewis Dobbin, Enzo Barrenechea and Ross Barkley all arriving in recent weeks.
The Villans have also parted company with a further six players.
Douglas Luiz, Tim Iroegbunam, Morgan Sanson and Viljami Sinisalo have been sold, while Philippe Coutinho has left on loan and Calum Chambers has been released.
Now, it looks as though Villa could be set to sell another player, with discussions having gone on for a few days now. Fabrizio Romano has provided an update.

Al-Ittihad increasingly confident of signing Aston Villa ace Moussa Diaby
The player in question is Moussa Diaby, who is wanted by Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad.
Romano, taking to X, says Al-Ittihad are “increasingly confident” of reaching an agreement with Villa over the Frenchman.
The transfer insider also said negotiations have been “progressing well” today, suggesting everything is on the right track for Diaby to make a move soon.
Surely only a matter of time
Speculation involving Diaby and Al-Ittihad has intensified in recent days and surely it’s only a matter of time before Romano declares “here we go”.
It looks as though there’s a good chance Villa won’t be starting the season with the “important” winger, who impressed in his maiden season in claret and blue.
It’s a shame as Diaby would surely be a key player in one of the most eagerly awaited seasons that the Villans have had in many years.
Villa have Champions League to look forward to, and there’s always the potential to kick on and maybe even ruffle some feathers in the Premier League title race.
