Sean Dyche will be keen for his Everton side to build on the 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday (28 September).
Despite a slow start, Marc Guehi gifting the visitors an early lead at Goodison Park, Dwight McNeil became the hero with a second-half brace securing the Toffees’ first league win of the season.
The Merseyside club are now set to take on Newcastle United, who will be flying high after stealing a 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
And while the frontline facing Palace consisted of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Iliman Ndiaye, McNeil, and Jesper Lindstrom, Dyche will be expected to make one key change.
Lindstrom was replaced at the half-time break following a disappointing showing against the Eagles, with Jack Harrison coming on in his place to grab a perfectly placed assist for the Toffees’ winning goal.
Jack Harrison holds the key for Everton v Newcastle United
Harrison will be excited to welcome the Magpies to Goodison Park on Saturday 5 October, boasting three wins and two draws in six meetings against them, matches which included two goals and one assist for the winger [Transfermarkt].
The 27-year-old has now grabbed his first assist of the campaign, and while he only notched six goal contributions in the Premier League last term, he could be key against Newcastle.
Looking at his display against Palace, having only won 17 per cent of his ground duels, being dispossessed three times, and only completing 78 per cent of his passes, some may want him to be left out [FotMob].
However, he just needs a consistent run of games in the starting XI before his true talent begins to shine for the Toffees.
Against Bournemouth, in the dreaded 3-2 defeat, Harrison was actually very positive, much like his teammates for the majority of the game. He completed 89 per cent of his passes, 67 per cent of his dribbles and won 67 per cent of his ground duels [FotMob].
Newcastle should fear the Toffees after they claimed their first win of the season, and starting the Leeds United loanee should help them to a positive result at Goodison Park.
