'Great to see' - David Edgar reacts as images of Ibrox construction emerge amid Rangers farce

David Edgar has reacted to the latest Ibrox construction images coming out of Rangers as the development of the Copland Road stand nears completion.

The Gers have been playing out their home matches at Hampden Park this season due to a delay in the building work.

Edgar, of the Heart & Hand podcast, responded to the images on X [15 August], as the fans are impatiently waiting to return to the Ibrox.

He said: “Great to see.”

Rangers near a return to the Ibrox

Philippe Clement has had more than his fair share to deal with at Rangers this summer and asking the fans to replicate the Ibrox atmosphere in an unfamiliar ground is the latest in a long list.

There will be no Champions League football at their home this season after the 2-0 defeat to Dynamo Kyiv at Hampden Park on Tuesday [11 August], had the match been played at the Ibrox as intended, the result could have been much different [Scottish Daily Mail].

The Ibrox has become an established name in world football and the atmosphere at the ground, particularly during the Old Firm derby [Daily Record] is up there as one of the best in the world and the longer Rangers are away from their home the more costly it will become throughout the season.

Clement has his sights set firmly on Celtic and the Scottish Premiership after the disappointing Champions League exit and, he will need the supporters to re-create the well-known volatile atmosphere for the opposition at Hampden Park until they can return to the Ibrox.

The latest images can act as a reprieve for supporters, the delay has caused them nothing but grief and adds further to the incompetence of those running the football club.

It cannot be understated that the Ibrox has become a fortress in Scottish and European football for the Light Blues, and amid all the uncertainty surrounding the club, a return home will do well to settle down the chaos that is Rangers.

In other Rangers news, The Gers medical team is concerned about Ridvan Yilmaz.
