Greater Glasgow Police share Hampden Park update for Celtic v Rangers

Rangers take on Celtic at Hampden Park in the Premier Sports Cup final on Sunday, and an air restriction will be in place during the fixture, Police Scotland confirmed.

The Greater Glasgow PSOS confirmed on their X account [14 December] that no uncrewed aircraft at up to 1000 feet will be allowed in a one nautical mile radius of the historic stadium between 1 pm and 7 pm on 15 December when the Old Firm derby takes place.

Permission will be required from Police Scotland to do so, as Philippe Clement’s team seeks to retain their status as champions.

The Met Office has also issued an update for the match, with the potential of adverse weather conditions on the day [Daily Record].

The Light Blues have had a tough start to the season and find themselves 11 points behind Brendan Rodgers in the Scottish Premiership table.

Early in the campaign, the Bears lost 3-0 to the Hoops away from home, and Clement’s record against them isn’t encouraging.

During his time in the Ibrox dugout, the Belgian manager has failed to get the better of the Gers’ archrivals, making a win on Sunday even more vital for his future at the Glaswegian outfit.

Rangers have turned the tide recently, claiming convincing victories in the league and holding Tottenham to a draw in the Europa League on Thursday [12 December].

The Light Blues looked better at Ibrox as the Spurs clash ended 1-1, with the Bears having opportunities towards the end to get the victory.

Celtic have been the best team in Scotland in the current campaign, but the Gers have a chance to lift the first silverware of the term and have the bragging rights for the moment.
