'I understand' - Chris Jack shares update on Rangers CEO search after Bisgrove exit

Rangers are “not close” to appointing a new CEO following James Bisgrove’s surprise departure earlier this summer, according to Chris Jack.

Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel (9 July, 22:25) he reported that the Light Blues’ current focus is on the transfer window and the redevelopment of Ibrox rather than a replacement CEO.

The Light Blues believe they can manage the current situation with the structure in place in Glasgow and there is an expectation that a new CEO will fall into place once the new season gets up and running.

Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel, Jack said: “Not close as far as I’ve heard or as far as I understand it.

“All the chat around that situation has been that the club will take its time and there are obviously bigger issues will all respect to the importance of a chief executive. There are a couple of big issues Rangers have to take care of, Ibrox being one of them and the transfer window.

“That has to be the full focus of everyone at the club, they have to get those two issues sorted soon, we have to get those issues sorted in the right manner and then ultimately the CEO sort of falls into that place.

“Rangers have to have someone in that position.”

Will Rangers appoint a new CEO after James Bisgrove’s summer Ibrox exit?

It isn’t a surprise that the Light Blues are faced with bigger and arguably more important issues at Ibrox currently as there is still a lot of work to be done in the weeks leading up to the start of the Premiership season.

Currently, the Gers don’t know where they will be playing their football at the start of the campaign or how long they’ll be away from their home ground, whilst supporters have been left in the dark about the whole situation.

On top of that, Philippe Clement’s playing squad hasn’t undertaken the mass overhaul that was required or mooted following the disappointing end to last season, with several players who were surplus to requirements still in place.

With a new campaign only a matter of weeks away, it does feel as though Rangers are not quite where they should be at this stage of the summer. So much needs to be done and quickly before attention can turn to finding a new CEO.

Hopefully, the Light Blues will get their ducks in a row sooner rather than later.

In other Rangers news, a sell-on clause has emerged at Ibrox as Robby McCrorie closes in on the Ibrox exit door this summer
