King suspects Daniel Levy debt concern after Tottenham announcement last week

Bryan King has suggested Daniel Levy could be facing financial troubles with Tottenham.

The ex-Spurs scout believes paying off loans on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be a big concern to Levy.

It comes after the club officially announced (20 June) that matchday ticket prices would be increasing ahead of the 2024/25 season.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims Levy will be looking for cash boosts wherever he can get them.

“The stadium isn’t paid for, that still needs to be paid off,” King said.

“They have NFL matches and concerts, but those aren’t going to generate the type of profit that football matches will.

“Levy is looking for investment, so things are probably getting tighter on the repayments of the stadium. These bills need to be paid.”

Levy hasn’t made it a secret that he is open to investment proposals in North London.

The reason he is seeking this investment is unclear, but if the club are having trouble paying off their 62,000-plus seater stadium, then that would explain a lot.

Ticket prices as well as the cost of kits continue to rise, and supporters will want to know why they’re being asked to pay more money.

It is hardly as if the club are splashing the cash on big-name signings.

However, if the money is going toward the repayment of the stadium, then that would explain the rising prices.
