King tells Everton to clear up takeover mess before August 17, staff and fans in limbo

Bryan King has insisted that Everton must make their takeover situation clear before the start of the new Premier League season on 17 August.

The ex-Toffees scout believes that the fans and staff of the club are still in limbo after The Friedkin Group pulled out of exclusive negotiations.

LA Dodgers general manager Kevin Malone is said to be considering reigniting his interest in a takeover, after missing out last time [Shamoon Hafez].

“I think this 777 thing seems to be the sticking point on everybody who wants to buy the club,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“Surely if you’ve got somebody interested, they have the money and they are prepared to come in and takeover the majority of the football club, it has got to be done.

“Stability is the main thing here, there has been talks that Everton are going to be sold for the past two years, and it hasn’t progressed.

“It keeps falling down at the same hurdle, how much money, what loans are going to be paid off.

“The Everton board have definitely got to get their act in order and sort this out before the season starts as the fans and staff are in limbo.”

Everton takeover to be sorted by August 17?

While any potential new takeover obviously wouldn’t be completed by the new season, bids and possible exclusivity from Farhad Moshiri could.

There has been radio silence since the crushing news that the latest bid collapsed, and some clarity is needed ahead of yet another huge Premier League season.
