'Leeds fans will go mad' if board sack Daniel Farke

Leeds fans ‘would not accept it’ if the board decided to sack Daniel Farke despite persistent rumours of it potentially happening.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Scotland striker Frank McAvennie expressed his confusion over the numerous rumors suggesting that the 47-year-old could be dismissed, especially with Leeds currently sitting in third place in the Championship table.

A comfortable 2-1 victory over Watford keeps Farke’s side unbeaten in their last six league matches and brings them within touching distance of league leaders Sunderland.

After falling at the final hurdle last season, Leeds are once again chasing promotion back to the Premier League under the German.

Daniel Farke backed to take Leeds United forward

With six wins, four draws, and just one defeat from their opening 11 league games, the West Yorkshire club are moving in the right direction after a frustrating start to the season.

They’ll need to keep their strong form going, as clubs have required 90 points or more to secure automatic promotion in three of the last five Championship seasons.

“He looks so miserable on the side of the pitch”, McAvennie told Football Insider.

“Maybe the directors don’t like him because of the way he does things, I don’t know.

“At the moment I think the Leeds support would go mad if they sacked him because he’s doing ever so well.

“I don’t think they would accept it.

“They loved the last but one guy, the wee guy that sat on the bucket, Marcelo Bielsa.

“I quite liked him myself, I thought it was brilliant bringing the bucket out and they hated it when he left.

“They’ve got this guy in now and he’s doing well and Leeds are looking good.

“They’ve not been playing the best football I’ve seen Leeds play but they’re getting results and in the last couple of games they’ve played decent.”
