Leeds ready move for Philip Billing after Turkey twist - report

Leeds United are reportedly plotting a move to sign Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old midfielder is on their radar heading into the next transfer window as Daniel Farke wants to bolster his midfield options.

According to Gune Bakis, the Championship outfit will decide in the coming months whether or not to make a move for him.

There is also interest from clubs in Turkey, who could get a deal for Billing wrapped up before Leeds can make a bid due to their transfer window being open until 13 September.

The versatile midfielder offers teams the chance to play both defensively and in a box-to-box position.

Billing is under contract at the Vitality Stadium until 2027, putting Bournemouth in a strong negotiating position.

Billing is an experienced midfielder who has made 283 appearances throughout his career in all competitions.

143 of those have come in the top flight, with Billing scoring 12 times in the Premier League.

He also boasts extensive experience in the Championship, where he’s played 112 games and scored 21 times.

With Leeds fighting for promotion to the Premier League this season, Billing could offer quality to achieve that and then be capable of making the step up.

Billing has fallen down the pecking order at Bournemouth this season, having only played six minutes of football so far.

The Danish footballer hasn’t been in the squad for either of their last two games, which could open him up to wanting a fresh start.
