Andy Robertson left the CBS Sports presenting team roaring with laughter with his reaction to Jamie Carragher’s comments about Mohamed Salah’s contract situation at Liverpool.
The Egyptian talisman is currently facing an uncertain future at Anfield, with his contract due to expire at the end of this season.
Speaking after his side’s 3-2 win at Southampton on Sunday (24 November), the 32-year-old had admitted he was “more out than in” with regards to his future on Merseyside when speaking to assembled media outside the ground.
Carragher then on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football coverage the next day by saying he was “very disappointed” in Salah for speaking out in such a way, calling his comments “selfish”, although it appears he has annoyed the Liverpool dressing room more.
After his side’s 2-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night (27 November), Robertson was interviewed by the CBS Sports Golazo team of Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Carragher.
When Abdo asked him what the squad’s verdict on the former Liverpool defender was in the wake of those comments, the laughing Scotland international admitted: “He’s been getting a bit of stick in the changing room this week that’s for sure!”
It was a response that prompted the presenting team, including Carragher himself, themselves burst into laughter and applause in response to Robertson’s comments.

This reaction from Robertson to those comments from Carragher are surely going to go down well with the Anfield fanbase.
It does seem as though the club are braced for the possibility of losing Salah in the summer, given they are being linked with other right-wingers.
Replacing the Egyptian though will be an incredibly tough ask for Liverpool, given the talismanic figure he is for the club.
Indeed, while he is still there, he is going to be vital to any hopes they have of winning trophies during the current campaign.
The fact it is Carragher’s comments, rather than Salah’s, that seem to not have gone down all that well in the Anfield dressing room, is a good sign for the club.
That suggests the 32-year-old retains the backing of his teammates, avoid the risk of any rifts that could upset their form on the pitch.
It may also help push him towards extending his stay on Merseyside, if he feels he has this support, which is another long-term boost for the club as well.
While there may have been an element of humour to this exchange there is an important situation behind it, and the response from the Reds veteran is one that Liverpool fans will no doubt welcome.
