'Open talks': Premier League side now confident they can 'special' Arsenal player after making move - Romano
Talks ongoing... ????
Arsenal’s summer has got off to a fairly slow start when it comes to players coming into the club.
Charlie Setford has finally broken the brought in north London after an agreement was found for the 20-year-old’s signature with Ajax.
However, Mikel Arteta is being made to wait when it comes to the expected signing of Riccardo Calafiori.
Arsenal are now finalising the deal with Bologna for Calafiori with Arteta keen to see the Italy international join the squad in the States.
The same could also be said about the Gunners’ departures list with Sambi Albert Lokonga marking the only permanent exit so far.
But that could soon change with Arsenal now in talks with another Premier League club over a deal to see another player leave.
Leicester City in talks with Arsenal over ‘special’ player
Arsenal have not made any big sales yet this summer but there are a number of players who could still find themselves playing elsewhere next season.
Emile Smith Rowe is one of those players who is receiving interest from Fulham and Crystal Palace.
And Arteta is also said to be open to selling the midfielder if an offer of around £30m was to land.
Smith Rowe may not be the only Arsenal academy graduate which could leave before the window shuts.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leicester City have now opened talks with Arsenal for the services of Reiss Nelson.
It is believed the two clubs are talking an initial loan which would include the obligation to buy next summer.
New Leicester boss Steve Cooper has previously worked with Nelson during his time as the England U17 manager.
And the Foxes are now said to be confident that they will be able to conclude a deal for the Arsenal midfielder.
Reiss Nelson has options this summer
Leicester have not been the only club to show their interest in Nelson this summer with a host of Premier League sides also in the picture.
However, it now seems as if the newly-promoted side are set to close in on Nelson with talks ongoing.
It hasn’t been easy for Nelson at Arsenal over recent years, but the prospect of playing under his former boss, Cooper, will surely be a big boost to his progression.
