O'Rourke Sources: Big Leeds-Summerville update today

Brighton have enquired about signing Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Leeds want to receive £35million plus add-ons for the Dutchman after he was named the Championship’s Player of the Year last season.

Football Insider revealed on 31st May it is now “impossible” for the orkshire club to keep hold of Summerville this summer after they failed to gain promotion back to the Premier League. 

Sources say Brighton are working on signing a new wide attacker, who can slot straight into their starting lineup next season. 

The 22-year-old is likely to be the first Leeds star to be sold this summer despite his contract running until 2026.

Brighton eye Crysencio Summerville deal after Leeds woes

Summerville enjoyed a breakout year last season after emerging as the standout player at Elland Road.

The Netherlands U-21 international started in 45 of his 49 appearances as Leeds secured a third-place finish before their Championship play-off final defeat against Southampton.

The winger registered 21 goals and 10 assists across the campaign, prompting Brighton and some of their fellow Premier League sides to monitor his situation in West Yorkshire.

Brighton have now enquired about Summerville’s availability this summer as an Elland Road exit is likely to be on the cards, with the player keen on a return to the top flight.

Leeds could be forced to sell some of their stars over the coming weeks after Football Insider revealed last month they must recoup an astonishing £150million in player sales after failing to gain promotion.

The Championship club owe £190million for Andrea Radrizzani-era transfers, while their latest financial accounts revealed a £33.7million loss after player sales.
