Tottenham Hotspur has been open to securing a minority investment in the club, and former Newcastle United director Amanda Staveley is targeting a deal.

Earlier this year, the 51-year-old and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi sold their remaining stake in Newcastle and are now looking for their next investment opportunity.

Staveley’s Middle East connections remain strong with ‘serious money’ backing her and she now appears to be targeting the North London club.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has revealed that Spurs are seeking some sort of minority investment in order to provide extra funds for the team on the pitch and help with other exciting projects.

Now, talk of Staveley being the person to take part ownership of the Premier League club will only have been fueled by her presence in N17.

Amanda Staveley spotted at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

On 13 October, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosted the NFL clash between Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars.

However, away from the field, the former Newcastle director being spotted in attendance in one of the plush new boxes at the ground will be one of the key talking points from the weekend.

Staveley has been keen to invest in Tottenham with talks claiming she wants to buy around 25 percent and is already making plans to change the manager with Eddie Howe linked to the Spurs job.

There had been suggestions Staveley’s Tottenham part-takeover masterplan recently hit a hurdle, but her attendance at the Spurs stadium suggests significant hope remains that she can agree a deal.

Will Amanda Staveley help make Tottenham competitive?

Tottenham fans will be desperate for any new investor to focus on helping make the team competitive on the pitch and end their 16-year wait for silverware.

Staveley and Ghodoussi played a key role in lifting the mood at St James’ Park and getting Newcastle back into the Champions League.

Under their stewardship, the Tyneside club brought in players like Alexander Isak, Sven Botman and Bruno Guimaraes.

Spurs will be hoping that if the former Newcastle duo are to be the pair that invest in the club, they will show similar support for their team as they did in the North East.
