Pundit says Daniel Levy could pull off 'Incredible' new transfer at Tottenham

Paul Robinson has told Daniel Levy to sign Juventus star Federico Chiesa after Tottenham were linked with the Italian forward.

Spurs have started an initial evaluation of the 26-year-old, according to Tutto Mercato Web [18 July], who is available for between £21.5million and £25.8million.

With Ange Postecoglou still looking to make attacking additions to his squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, Robinson has urged Levy to splash the cash on Chiesa this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “If Daniel Levy can bring a player like that into the squad, it would be incredible. It would be a real statement signing. Chiesa is still only 26 years old. Look at what he did for Italy at the Euros.

“He’s not a prolific goalscorer but, with his creativity in the final third, if you have the opportunity pick up a player like that from Juventus for £25million, you go into the market and try to get him.

“He’s a top-quality forward and he’d be an incredible signing for Tottenham. I also think he’d relish the challenge of the Premier League at this stage in his career, as it would bring him to another level.

“Because of the way he plays, he would be the perfect fit for Spurs. For £25million, there will be several clubs interested so there will be a battle for his signature. But Tottenham have Paratici. If he can work his magic in Juventus circles, that would be a marquee statement signing.”

With Richarlison’s future still uncertain in North London, Chiesa could be the perfect replacement for the Brazilian this summer.

Tottenham have been unable to find a player capable of filling the void left by Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich, and while the Italian is a very different player, he should add a large number of goals to the squad.

While Chiesa could not find the back of the net at Euro 2024 in Germany, his impact off the flanks, as well as his ability to play through the middle, speaks volumes of his talent and quality on the ball.
